What we believe

GOD IS REAL

The one God is perfect, is all-powerful, and made, and rules everything.

He lovingly cares about everyone and everything.

He is one God who exists in three Persons:  Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

THE BIBLE IS TRUE

The Bible is completely accurate and authoritative on everything that it presents.

No other religious book can compare to its purity, comprehensiveness and absolute truth.

Therefore, the Bible is to be studied to know the truth and to know how to please God.

JESUS IS THE SAVIOR AND RETURNING KING

Jesus chose to come to earth to rescue us by dying on the cross to pay for the sins of all people.

His actual resurrection from the dead proves who He is and that He accomplished salvation.

Jesus has ascended into heaven where He has prepared a place for all of His followers.  One day He will return to forever destroy sin and undo all of it's destructive consequences on the whole universe.

ALL MUST BELIEVE IN JESUS

All people are sinners.  Every one of us has done many, many bad things.

We are selfish and repeatedly disobey God.

Our sin separates us from God.

If we die in sin, we are disqualified from living in heaven.

Only if our sins are paid for can we have heavenly hope.

But this payment is neither money nor good deeds that we could do.

The Bible clearly states that believing in Jesus is the one basis for forgiveness and salvation (to be saved from guilt and given eternal life in heaven).

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

What does "Evangelical Free" mean?

To be "Evangelical" means that we believe that the Bible is true and that Jesus is the one Savior who is available for all people everywhere.

Aren't we all "free" in America?  Actually, many churches are controlled by a group of people in a different city, state, or even country.  Although we belong to the Evangelical Free Churches of America, we are not dominated by our national association; we are free to share Jesus right as He leads us.
